Inktober 2023
I managed to complete Inktober this year. Its tough to commit to an hour (approximately) every day to draw, but I started off with a day's lead time, and managed to do 2 in one day about mid month, so I kept pace pretty good. I ended up doing a good chunk of these with my daughter and younger son either watching, or sitting with me while they worked on their own coloring pages & art. It was a lot of fun to spend some time drawing with them: something I feel my older son and I spent a lot of time doing, but I haven't made as much time for in recent years.
I used procreate on an old gen 2 iPad Pro, and bought this brush pack to hype myself up (and prevent myself from taking forever choosing which brushes to use every day).
My personal favourite is Day 30 - Rush. I don't think I managed to convey speed or anything very well with the picture, but I enjoyed drawing a roller skate from that perspective without reference. My least favourite is probably Day 29 - Massive. I just feel like it was rushed: I ended up spiralling while trying to make the silhouettes look good and rushed the actual massive monster.
Anyways, here they are: you can right click the images and hit "Open image in new tab" to see them fullsize. still working on figuring out a better Gallery-style post.
